Prior to graduating with a degree in psychology, I spent much of my youth volunteering with special needs children, senior citizens, and coaching children in sports and horsemanship. Working in healthcare, and helping remove the stigma of aging is a passion of mine.

My mother has been a nurse for close to 30 years. I'd just grown up around it. I decided to become an STNA out of high school and then went to nursing school in 2005-2006 and have been doing it since.

Why do you love what you do?

I always say "I was made to be a nurse." Being able to care for anyone is one of my greatest pleasures. I've always looked at every patient as "if they were my own family,' and caring, loving and providing for them is what makes my days better.
